Al Jazeera journalists arrested in Mogadishu



Somali security forces have on Tuesday arrested two Al Jazeera journalists in Mogadishu after covering Tuesday’s Al shabaab attack on Afgoye district.

The Journalists – Hamza Mohamed and his cameraman Nur Mohamed are currently being held at a government custody in Mogadishu.

Somali security forces officials did not comment on the arrest of the Qatari-based Al Jazeera English Television channel journalists.

Hamza Mohamed, has in the past went to Al Shabaab strongholds and interviewed senior Al shabaab commanders, including the group’s spokesman Sheikh Ali Dheere.
