Unknown gunmen have executed a traditional elder in Mogadishu on Friday night, the latest in series of attacks against electoral delegates in the Capital over the past few weeks.
The elder who was identified as Abdullahi Salad Hassan popularly known as (Wadad Yare) was gunned down by two pistol-wielding men thought to be Al shabaab assassins.
The shooting took place at KPP junction in Mogadishu’s Hodon district on Friday evening.
According to his son, late Hassan was shot dead as he left a barber and en route to his house in the area. The culprits have escaped from the scene, before the security forces arrived.
During the manhunt in the area, Somali Police forces had arrested several people in connection the Elder’s killing and taken into custody for further investigations.
