Ahmed Hussein, a prominent Somali elder has called for the immediate and unconditional release of Ali Hussein Ali who was detained in Kenya in connection with Islamic state (ISIL).
The Elder has denied all charges against Ali, and urged Kenyan authorities to release him.
“I can confirm that Ali Hussein Ali is a well-known Somali businessman and had not links or collaboration with any terrorist group. He is innocent. He should be freed soon,” said Hussein.
He has asked the Federal Government of Somalia to intervene in the case, and work on the release of the businessman accused of being a recruiter for the ISIL branch in Kenya.
Ali has been arrested by Kenya security forces in northeast region near Somali border, and taken to a custody in undisclosed location, where he is being currently interrogated.
