KENYAN youth from the Coast who joined the Somalia militant group of al Shabaab could be living in Mombasa, Likoni deputy county commissioner Lawrence Kinyua has said.
Addressing a security meeting at Soweto area in Likoni on Wednesday, Kinyua asked residents to report suspicious people to the police.
The youth are alleged to have joined the militia group in 2011. Kenya Defence Forces officers went to Somalia to fight the insurgents in October of the same year.
The youth are said to have received paramilitary training from the group between 2010 and 2011 and are quite dangerous. Kinyua said the group might have come back following the defeat of the al Shabaab by the KDF.
