IbrahimSufi2Ibrahim Sufi is a husband, father, entrepreneur, business owner and engineer who is committed to facilitating academic, economic and social progress locally and abroad. A native of Somalia, Sufi left the war-torn country for Nairobi Kenya in 1991 and moved to Clarkston, Georgia in 2003, the place he is pleased to call home.

He began his college studies in Clarkston at Georgia Perimeter College and furthered his education at Georgia Institute of Technology. There he earned a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Upon graduation, Sufi received offers to work at highly respected organizations, such as the U.S. Department of Transportation and Schlumberger. He declined those opportunities and chose to remain in Clarkston and establish his successful small business, Sufi and Sons Trucking, Inc.

A champion for education, Sufi is a member of the Georgia Tech Alumni Association.
Last year, he was elected to serve on the Board of Advisors for TOHL (Tubing Operations for Humanitarian Logistics). His strategic planning skills have assisted the organization in installing quick, cost-efficient water delivery systems in Chile, Haiti and South Sudan. Despite contrasting cultural and religious backgrounds, Sufi and TOHL co-founder, Benjamin Cohen work together to support fellow humans in developing countries in implementing economic and social reforms. Sufi is currently collaborating with educators, business owners, civic leaders and immigrants and native citizens to address the common needs of the diverse Clarkston residents, and improve the education, economy and safety of his beloved city.

He and his wife, Nura, are the proud parents of two sons and two daughters.
