Somalia: Farole Discusses Security and Governance With Ethiopian Prime Minister



Puntland President Abdirahman Mohamed Farole met with Ethiopian Prime Minister Hailemariam Desalegn in Addis Ababa Tuesday (September 3rd) to discuss the advancement of security and governance in Somalia.

“The Ethiopian prime minister underlined that Ethiopia and [Intergovernmental Authority on Development] IGAD member states agree that abiding to the federal constitution is the basis for rebuilding and reconciliation in Somalia, including the formation of the remaining federated states,” the Somali federal state of Puntland said in a press release.

Farole praised Ethiopia for its role in negotiating the recent agreement between the Somali government and the Interim Jubbaland Administration.
