Somalia: Fresh Displacement Begins in Jowhar After River Floods Resume

People in Jowhar town begun new displacement after Shabelle river resumed to flood. Hundreds of families were seen fleeing from their homes on Saturday and Sunday seeking shelter from other places including nearby villages.

Dalsan radio reporters say that the seasonal rains which started at the end of September continue across the region and contributed to flooding, especially in and around Jowhar town in Middle Shabelle region. Thousands of families are feared to be homeless as the new displacement continue in the Middle Shabelle region.
