Hundreds of internally displaced persons from Qoryooley have reached the capital of lower Shabelle, Marka.
The IDPs have been displaced by the ongoing fighting between Al-Shabaab militant group and the Somali National Army and AMISOM troops.
Some of IDPs who spoke to Bar-Kulan have said they are farmers who used to depend on the activity before being displaced by the heavy fighting.
Al-Shabaab militant group lost Qoryooley to SNA and AMISOM mid March.
